Mitchell Family Farm
Our Farm
Since 2014

Both Michael and Whitney grew up with agricultural backgrounds. Michael and his family raise registered Black Angus and the TwinPine Ranch is just a crow's flight away from the Mitchell Family Farm. Both Michael and Whitney were actively involved in 4-H growing up.

"We got married in 2014 and bought a cute little house with property in 2015 after renting it for a while. We had two dogs and a cat but we had the barn and space for the chickens so we just jumped in. I always told Mike I wanted goats and in my head that meant like 3 Nubians. We got 30 Boer-Kiko meat goats a few months before our first daughter was born and Michael worked away from home at the time. We were told only fifteen goats were pregnant but twenty-seven actually were! I was baby-wearing our oldest and pulling goat kids and weeds while Michael worked. That's my favorite story to how we got started on our farm," says Whitney.

Now the farm consists of the Black Angus cattle, a Jersey cow named Rosie, our performance program ADGA Nigerian Dwarf herd, rabbits, poultry, cats and dogs and three children. We are striving to make improvements on our farm and home and added a greenhouse in 2022 to expand our short growing season. We spend a lot of time gardening and we also homeschool our girls.
We were featured in the 2023 June Ruralite Surprise Valley Magazine and Kate Hiller did an awesome job writing the article titled A Fruitful Life on the Farm.
