What to expect when your goat is kidding.

Here is an article I found on what to expect when your goat kids.
Goat Reproduction Parturition/Kidding – Goats (extension.org)

There are many YouTube videos on goats giving birth if you would like to watch them to get a better idea on what to expect. Some farms are very hands-on and some are very hands-off. Since our Nigerian Dwarfs tend to birth large litters I like to be there to assist catching and drying them off. We typically kid in winter and so when the doe is in labor and having multiples she doesn't have time to get the first kid cleaned up and dried off when she is already pushing out another. We keep lots of towels in our kidding kit to help dry them off ASAP so we don't get chilled kids. I also like to confirm that each kid has nursed of its dam and has gotten a little bit of colostrum. If the dam has a large litter then I often will milk her and bottle feed each kid as well as putting it on a teat to ensure this. Whatever extra colostrum I have left in the bottle goes into the freezer for a potential later emergency. Here is a list what I keep in my medical/kidding kit again:
